Searchers typing “LGBTQ tarot deck” are rarely looking for a secret code. They want a pack they can put on the table without explaining themselves to the images. That usually means inclusive casting: a range of identities, genders, bodies, and relationships drawn as part of the deck’s world, not as a single token card.
It is a close cousin of “queer tarot deck” and “lesbian tarot deck.” Those phrases name the same need from slightly different angles. A lesbian tarot deck, in practice, is not a separate product category in our shop: it is a deck whose art includes lesbian life instead of treating it as an afterthought. The same is true for gay, bi, and trans readers. If the courts, the Lovers, and the everyday pip or scene cards can hold that life, the deck is doing the job.
Inclusive decks are not only for LGBTQ+ readers. Anyone can shuffle them. The point is that queer and allied readers do not have to spend the reading translating a world that was never drawn with them in mind. Rosario Salerno’s studio copy puts it simply: a space to celebrate LGBTQ+ people and the freedom to express who we are, in a visual language that feels contemporary rather than sombre by default.
Both decks are packed in our studio, not through a print-on-demand merch partner. New Voice is a numbered and signed edition of 1,000 copies; Marseille’s third edition is 500 numbered copies with a signed certificate of authenticity. That does not make either deck “better”—it tells you who made the images and who taped the box. Merch in the wider shop (posters, tees, mugs) may ship separately; these two tarot decks do not.
